There was a report that surfaced earlier this week that stated that Iman Shumpert was involved in a potential trade for Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets. I asked Iman Shumpert after the Knicks’ win against the Hawks about them, and he was not happy.

Both the Knicks and Nuggets have come out and denied the rumors, but according to Marc Stein of ESPN, Shumpert could be available:

"More and more folks around the league see some sort of Shumpert deal materializing sooner rather than later, given that he’s New York’s only real asset of value to make an in-season move and with the Knicks increasingly confident that they’ve got enough at the position to handle Shumpert’s exit now that J.R. Smith is back and with rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. looking good early."

Hardaway Jr. had 14 points in 15 minutes in Atlanta on Wednesday, and he has been impressive so far. The Knicks will need something to help them this year, as they may not have the fire power to compete in a loaded Eastern Conference.

I touched on the topic on today’s podcast.
