The Atlanta Falcons got off to a hot start against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, but Drew Brees and company quickly answered to draw even. Atlanta was in position to retake the lead, but quarterback Matt Ryan took a high hit that forced the Falcons to kick the field goal and give up a chance at a touchdown.

Ryan was hit in the head by the Saints defender and the play should have resulted in a 15-yard penalty, but the referees ignored the blow to Ryan’s dome and Falcons head coach Mike Smith was unhappy with the no call.

Of course, Smith let the refs have it:

Considering the controversial call that went the Saints direction last week after San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks hit Brees in the helmet, the lack of a flag on this play is going to upset a lot of people.
