The Atlanta Falcons, at this point in their 2-8 campaign, are fighting for pride. There would be no better way to get some of that back than to get a huge win over one of the best teams in the NFC, and their division rival, the New Orleans Saints.
For this Falcons team to ultimately succeed. they need to get all they can out of QB Matt Ryan. I mean, there’s a reason that they gave him that lucrative contract, after all.
But, they also need to protect their most valuable asset, which they’ve not done so well at times in this bust of a season.
Kind of like what happened in the third quarter against the Saints.
The Falcons are still in this one, and they had the chance to get something going right out of the gate in the second half. But, Ryan dropped back to pass from around their own 20 and everything just fell apart around him:
For the criticisms that Ryan takes at times, it’d be nice if he had some room to work…
