The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are giving the Detroit Lions all they can handle this afternoon, something that was not expected before kickoff.
All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson has been kept out of the endzone by Darrelle Revis (at least so far) despite racking up 91 yards through three quarters, so the touchdowns have went elsewhere today. One of those made their way into the hands – or should I say hand of Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew, who used his giant mitt to snag a rocket thrown by Matt Stafford for six points in the third quarter.
Pettigrew ran a relatively straight route before fading into the endzone though was covered well by the Tampa Bay defense. Yet, sticking out his hand, Pettigrew was able to haul in the impressive touchdown – his second of the season.
