Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali is in the mix for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, but he left Chiefs fans holding their breath on Sunday afternoon. Hali went down in the second quarter of the Chiefs meeting with the San Diego Chargers with an ankle injury.

There is no official word on the injury that Hali suffered, but it was a non-contact injury which always leaves you nervous.

Hali was unable to put any pressure on his leg as he was helped to a cart by two trainers.

With Hali out of the ballgame, the Chiefs will rely on Frank Zombo to step up.
