The Carolina Panthers are fighting to stay in the driver’s seat for a first-round bye. There is a scenario where the Panthers could get the No. 1 seed, but it might be unlikely.
They found themselves down early to the Atlanta Falcons. They got a touchdown off a pick-six following a fumble after a big DeAngelo Williams run after a screen pass.
As the first half was winding down they were marching down field and got a big boost from Mike Tolbert. He runs over multiple defenders while setting up a first and goal situation. Cam Newton threw a touchdown pass to Ted Ginn on the next play to take a 14-10 lead.
