Nuggets at Lakers final score: Denver blows out Los Angeles 137-115

Behind a balanced effort and a giant second half, the Denver Nuggets blew out the Los Angeles Lakers 137-115 Sunday night.

The Lakers, behind a strong first half from Pau Gasol, took a 61-60 lead into the break. Then, the Nuggets’ offense absolutely exploded. They scored 33 third quarter points and then topped that by putting up 44 points in the fourth quarter, giving them a total of 77 second half points to the Lakers’ 54.

The Nuggets had seven players score in double figures, led by Nate Robinson, who had 21 points, five rebounds and five assists off of the bench. Timofey Mozgov, who also came off of the bench, had 20 points and seven rebounds in just 21 minutes.

Ty Lawson had 20 points and 12 assists and Kenneth Faried scored 17 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and blocked two shots. Wilson Chandler (17), Randy Foye (14) and Evan Fournier (12) also finished in double figures.

The Nuggets shot 53-of-99 from the field (53.5%), knocked down 12 three-pointers and hit 19 free throws.

The Lakers were led by Gasol, who finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Joe Meeks poured in 23 points, Nick Young scored 21 and Robert Sacre added 15 points and five rebounds. Kendall Marshall had just nine points on three-of-10 shooting, but dished out 17 assists and grabbed six rebounds.

The Nuggets are now 16-17 while the Lakers are 14-20.
