The San Francisco 49ers received some bad news at halftime, when it was learned that starting offensive guard Mike Iupati would be unable to return for the remainder of the NFC Championship game.

The good news for the 49ers is that they are currently leading the Seattle Seahawks in the second half, but Iupati is a key player who allows the 49ers offense to roll with his physical play up front.

Iupati has an ankle injury, but no further details have been released.

Iupati suffered his injury during a touchdown run from Anthony Dixon, after the pile rolled up on his lower leg.
