There was a report over the weekend that the Minnesota Timberwolves would be open to moving J.J. Barea, Dante Cunningham and Alexey Shved in a trade that brings a big name to town and keeps Kevin Love happy. While that may be true that the team is willing to part ways with those assets in a trade, it appears Minnesota is not actively pursuing any deals ahead of the deadline.

According to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports, the Wolves are more interested in making who they have no better rather than bringing someone new in.

"While the Wolves’ brass is doing their due diligence, they are more worried about improving the defense than making a trade deadline move."

Minnesota isn’t close minded to a trade, but they’re not looking for one either. This seems to back up statements made recently by Flip Saunders, who said making trades to keep fans happy just doesn’t add up mathematically.

A trade seems unlikely, but the door looks to still be open a crack for the Wolves to make a move if one presents itself.
