In their desperate attempt to upgrade from Eric Maynor at backup point guard, the Washington Wizards are still pursuing New York Knicks’ reserve point guard Beno Udrih.

The Knicks, however, are in discussions with the Denver Nuggets regarding Udrih. It appears as though the Knicks’ consistent and long term pursuit of Nuggets’ forward Kenneth Faried is not going to come to fruition, so they are instead turning their focus to acquiring another Nuggets’ forward, Jordan Hamilton, and  are offering Udrih in return.

With Andre Miller not playing and potentially being traded and Nate Robinson out for the season after having knee surgery, acquiring a veteran like Udrih makes sense for the Nuggets.

Of course, it also makes a lot of sense for the Wizards, who could potentially ship Glen Rice, Jr. to the Knicks.

Udrih is averaging 5.6 points, 3.5 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game this season.
