The Atlanta Falcons are currently sitting in the No. 6 overall slot in the NFL Draft this May, but they might not be sitting there long. While the Falcons have a few pressing needs on their roster, general manager Thomas Dimitroff has shown a desire to execute another blockbuster trade and this could see the team moving up to No. 2 overall.

According to ESPN.com, the Rams could be looking to trade down — something we’ve been hearing a lot lately — and should the Texans pass on Jadeveon Clowney at No 1 overall, that could logically set up a scenario where Atlanta moves up.

Per ESPN.com blogger Nick Wagoner:

"Speaking of trade downs, it sounds like the best-case scenario for the Rams to get a decent package of picks to move down is for Houston to take Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles. It’s entirely possible the Rams would get the most in return from a team moving up to land South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Atlanta remains the most logical potential trade partner."

This doesn’t mean that the Falcons are a lock to trade up, but it makes more than a little sense. If Clowney’s gone and a guy like Johnny Manziel is on the board, the Rams will be looking at a sweet trade there too, so the only team affected by Clowney being taken No. 1 overall are the Falcons.
