The career of Dikembe Mutombo is one that big men all over the NBA strive for, as he’s one of the best to have ever played in the NBA. He’s still going strong too, as while Mutombo may have retired years ago, he’s still able to deny slam dunk attempts and wave his finger in everyone’s face like he used to back in the day.

Mutombo channeled his former self on a slam dunk attempt by the Denver Nuggets mascot. While the dunk was supposed to see the mascot run the length of the court, hit a trampoline target, bounce in the air and slam a ball served up by Mutombo, the big man had other ideas.

That’s not really how Mutombo actually used to deny dunks in his playing days, but it’s pretty much what it felt like. The Nuggets mascot may have been the butt of Mutombo’s joke, but at least the guy inside the suit has a cool story to tell about how a 47-year old Mutombo denied his dunk attempt.
