The saga with Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves as to whether or not they will eventually part ways via a trade has been one of the more intriguing storylines of the basketball season, and very well could carry over into the summer. Most notably, a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers where he would go back home has been right at the forefront.

But as Pro Basketball Talk is reporting via ESPN, the T-Wolves are basically doing everything in their power to resist having to face the realization of trading Love, until it’s absolutely necessary.

"The suggestion is already in circulation that the Lakers will attempt to use their forthcoming high lottery pick in June to assemble the sort of trade package that finally convinces the Wolves to part with Love and end the uncertainty that hangs over this franchise even before the 25-year-old enters the final year of his contract. Yet there is just as much defiance emanating from ‘Sota, as we speak, about the Wolves’ ability to keep Love in town. You continue to hear that Wolves owner Glen Taylor remains determined to try to convince Love to stick around and will keep resisting trade offers until, as one insider puts it, he “has no choice.”"

At this point, there’s no telling where this saga will end, but the Timberwolves are remaining very optimistic that it ends with Love staying right where he is.
