The Atlanta Falcons are in need of a inning back and it has been reported that they’ll be looking at the draft to find one. But according to Tennessee Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt, the most likely landing spot for embattled running back Chris Johnson is with the Falcons, meaning they could wind up with a solid back well before May rolls around.

It’s far from being a done deal, but the Falcons have been looking or someone to pair wit the aging Steven Jackson and while they have some young legs on the depth chart, there’s nothing like adding Johnson in a bid to go all-in yet again on the upcoming season.

There is talk of the Falcons trading up in the draft as well, something that would limit their later round draft picks and make drafting a running back a bit hard. This lends further credence to the theory that the Falcons can land Johnson and pair him with Jackson.

Nothing is certain, but the Falcons usually only go big without going home and if they have sights set on Johnson then it may not be long before he’s in Atlanta.
