The New Orleans Saints have signed multiple safeties this season, something the Atlanta Falcons were likely aware of when they signed Rafael Bush to an offer sheet on Thursday.

Hoping that the Saints are content with their secondary, the Falcons inked the deal with Bush, giving New Orleans until April 8th to match the contract.

"Safety Rafael Bush has signed an offer sheet with the #Falcons, via NFL transaction wire. #Saints have until April 8 to match."

Bush was tendered at the original-round level so if he is to leave, the Saints will not get any compensation. Then again, Bush isn’t exactly what you’d call a true difference maker, so expecting such was rather unlikely.

It’s not known if the Saints are interested in retaining Bush, but given their recent addition of CFL standout Marcus Ball to a three-year deal, one would assume they knew the Bush move was coming and prepared accordingly.

For now, we’ll wait and continue to update Bush’s status when he returns to the Saints or signs with the Falcons.
