Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward Pau Gasol has been a hot topic throughout the NBA season.

Gasol has suffered through several different injuries, including a couple of recent bouts with vertigo. He also was at the center of trade rumors leading up to the trade deadline because he is in the final year of his contract.

With free agency coming up, Gasol may look to cash in on the open market for the first time in his career. Several teams chased Gasol during the season and the Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to be three of his many suitors in the offseason.

There have even been reports that Gasol could return on a one-year deal, but that seems unlikely.

Gasol has enjoyed his time in Los Angeles. He says his personal feelings won’t get in the way of his business decision, but certainly isn’t ruling out a return to Los Angeles.

“I think there’s chances,” Gasol told Mike Bresnahan of The Los Angeles Times. “It depends what the conditions are going to be and then I’ll decide what’s best. At this point in my career, I just have to be picky, put my personal feelings aside and look at the whole picture.”

The 33-year old Gasol is averaging 17.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
