It seems that quarterback isn’t the only position getting a flavor-of-the-week treatment in the 2014 NFL Draft. After much yammering and ballyhoo about Jadeveon Clowney on the defensive side of the ball, it seems that Khalil Mack is now the one getting the most hard looks from teams.

The Atlanta Falcons, who are in desperate need of improving their pass rush, are reportedly hosting Mack for a visit this Wednesday, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

A 6-foot-3-inch, 251-pound outside linebacker out of Buffalo, Mack has started to gain a lot of momentum on draft boards, with ESPN’s Merril Hodge even going as far as to stay he’d take Mack with the number one overall pick above Clowney, and Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft has Mack going at number five.

If the Falcons were interested in trading up to the number one pick to get Clowney, then trading up a few spots from number six to get Mack should seem like a no-brainer. While both Clowney and Mack have explosive speed and a quick first step, many analysts think Mack plays with more football intelligence than Clowney.
