On Monday, a report surfaced that former Northern Illinois Huskies’ safety Jimmie Ward has been cleared to run.

Ward had foot surgery and was unable to participate in the NFL’s Scouting Combine and has not been able to participate in individual workouts either.

The injury hasn’t stopped at least 12 teams from showing heavy interest in Ward.

According to Adam Caplan, Ward visited with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, among others.

Despite his injury, Ward is still considered one of the top safeties in the draft and had a very productive career with the Huskies. Over his career, he made 319 tackles, 6.0 for loss, 2.0 sacks, 11 interceptions (one touchdown) and four forced fumbles, including 95 tackles, 2.5 for loss, one sack, seven interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and a forced fumble in 2013.
