Last season one of the hottest names, if not the hottest name, on the NBA coaching market was then-Indiana Pacers assistant head coach Brian Shaw. But while he eventually found work with the Denver Nuggets, his name is coming up again in head coaching searches thanks to his connections to the Lakers organization and Phil Jackson, who is now with the New York Knicks.

According to the Denver Post though, Shaw may be flattered by the fact that his name is coming up in coaching searches but he’s not in a rush to leave his first head coaching gig for another after just one season.

This isn’t that surprising but there could be a scenario where the Nuggets fire Shaw and he then becomes available. That was once though to be a possibility but the time seems to have passed on that happening and Shaw will be back in 2014-15 for another season.

New York is zeroing in on Steve Kerr and the Lakers are casting a wide net to find their next head coach and both are a year too late to get a guy who may have very well been a frontrunner for both gigs had this scenario came up in 2013.
