The St. Louis Rams are one of the craftiest teams in the draft, as they routinely leak player workouts knowing full well that the information they’re giving is useless to other teams. So, when they released word that Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans and Jake Matthews would all be working out together, many saw this is bait and nothing more.

But one of those names has resurfaced and i may be for personal interest more so than inflating the trade value of the No. 2 overall pick. According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Rams are privately working out Mike Evans on Friday in one of their last pre-draft visits.

This may not be a smokescreen announcement as the Rams need help jump starting their offense and Evans showed electricity at Texas A&M this past season. There were more than a few times where he bailed out Johnny Manziel and many believe Evans is the sole reason Manziel looked so good.

St. Louis needs to find big targets for Sam Bradford — or whoever — to throw to and that means if Evans is an option either at No. 2 or more likely in a trade down scenario, St. Louis might not think twice.
