One question has been consuming baseball fans: Where will Kendrys Morales land once the draft is past and signing him will no longer cost a team precious draft pick compensation?

More from Milwaukee Brewers

The Yankees and Royals have both come up in recent speculation, and now you can add two more teams to the list of potential Morales suitors. Jon Heyman says we should keep an eye on the Brewers and Mariners in the hunt for Morales.

Heyman says he expects Morales to sign in the next day or two. He also says the Yankees asked Morales’ agent Scott Boras to give them a little more time while they monitor the injury situation with a couple of their stars, but Boras declined.

Heyman says:

"While the Yankees aren’t necessarily out of the running for Morales, it would appear other teams — including the Brewers, the incumbent Mariners and another team or two — may have a better chance now to sign the first baseman/DH. The Yankees sought to gauge the health of Teixeira (wrist) and Beltran (elbow) to known how much playing time they would have for Morales, but they may be running out of time."

Heyman also says there is a mystery team in the mix for Morales. Of course, there’s always a mystery team. Even if there isn’t a mystery team, Scott Boras will make sure that people think there’s a mystery team.

Somebody is going to get themselves a solid bat in the next few days, whether that team is the Yankees, the Brewers or whomever. And then we can finally shut down Morales Watch 2014.
