As the top recruit in the nation last year incoming LSU freshman Leonard Fournette showed off his speed as one of the best high school running backs in the past decade, and he showed rapper Master P just how quick his feet are in a race over the Memorial Day weekend.

More from College Football

Fournette and Master P were both attending an AAU basketball tournament when the New Orleans rapped approached the former St. Augustine star and wouldn’t take no for an answer. As you would expect the top recruit in the nation was not about to lose to a middle-aged rapper.

Video courtesy of NOLA.com via Corey Scott who filmed the race and allowed the Times-Picayune to post the video to their website.

Master P is filming a reality show so we will have to be on the lookout to see if this race makes the final cut and appears on his television show at a later date and time.

We do know for certain that we will see plenty of Fournette this fall and for at least the next three seasons at LSU where he is expected to fill the shoes of Jeremy Hill who led the Tigers with 1,400 rushing yards last season and declared for the NFL draft where he was a second round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fournette and Terrence Magee will have to lead the LSU offense with Zach Mettenberger, Odell Beckham Jr.and Jarvis Landry all gone from last year’s prolific offense.

Fournette will be running a lot harder than he did in the above video and could be the player who gets LSU back into the national title picture in the coming years.
