For weeks we’ve heard talk about a go-kart race between former NBA player and current TNT analyst Charles Barkley and Nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.

More from NASCAR

Nascar’s most popular driver posted a picture of the two going at it a while back, but the network was holding off from showing the video until now and it’s great as we expected,

Both Barkley and Earnhardt Jr. are featured in the piece as the Round Mound of Rebound is given multiple advantages to beat the professional driver, but he wasn’t able to do – at least not during their first attempt.

Barkley, given an entire lap lead on Earnhardt was dusted by the Mountain Dew man as he finished his five laps before Barkley could complete his fourth on the .7-mile, 11-turn course.

Somehow, the two-time Daytona 500 picked up over 33 seconds per lap on Barkley en route to the victory.

It wasn’t all bad for Barkley though as he did find some glory come the second race.

A much shorter route, Barkley only had to complete two laps to Earnhardt’s three and came out victorious, despite the fact that in typical Barkley form, he spun out on his first lap.

Pretty hard to believe Barkley would defeat Dale Jr. in any race, let alone one that featured Chuck spinning out so I’m guessing Earnhardt let his friend come away with a win, but it still made for a rather hilarious video.

Hopefully TNT will continue to do things like this as it’ll improve their Nascar coverage (which is already good) greatly.
