Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson helped do his part to give one couple the wedding of their dreams as the star running back surprised Pedro Lopez and his bride Susana by showing up at their wedding over the weekend.

More from College Football

Susana had arranged for Miami’s mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, to show up at the wedding at a cost of $250-300 according to The Palm Beach Post’s Matt Porter, but little did she know that her husband’s favorite player would be crashing the wedding as well.

The two-time All-ACC second teamer had his season cut short season and was held out of spring practice as he continues to rehab his broken ankle he suffered in the team’s loss to Florida State, so it was nice to see him take some time out of his busy schedule to make a lifetime memory for a diehard Miami fan.

With a healthy Johnson in the backfield, the Hurricanes hope to get back to the top of the ACC standings and compete in the Conference Championship Game as Al Golden continues his attempt to bring the program back to a point of national prominence.

Miami was ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation last year, but tailed off after Johnson was injured and suffered a blowout loss in the Russell Athletic Bowl to Louisville to end the season on a sour note. Here’s to hoping for Miami fans that this joyous occassion is not the only time Johnson will be celebrating this year.
