Vibram allows people to walk on water

Are you familiar with the Vibram FiveFinger shoes?  If not, Vibram would like to make you aware of who they are.  Thanks to Vibram, the Go Pro Mountain Games ended up being an event that also included the ability for lucky spectators to truly walk on water.

As Vibram explains, the mixture isn’t exactly all water, in reality it’s a mixture of water and cornstarch, but nonetheless.  Vibram had two options for those who wanted to test the theory, are people really lighter than water?  Participants could run across the pool, or for those who were extra daring, a weight pull competition was held.

With the weight pull, Vibram invited participants to try and pull a kettle bell out of the mixture as well.

Creating hype for the event, Vibram used the hashtag #WaterRun to allow participants to be able to share the experience across social media.

Although the pool is clearly not water, the idea and principle is interesting.  Cornstarch causes the water to take on a much denser form, allowing participants to be able to traverse the obstacle.  While ice could also be a medium that one could claim they are walking on water, the composition of the water itself is in a solid state.

Vibram found a way to alter water in its current state, and use a nice play on words to allow fans and participants in the Go Pro Mountain Games to test their mettle at feeling a little superior to gravity and the elements.
