On Monday morning, news broke suggesting that LeBron James and his wife Savannah ‘love’ Los Angeles. And simply put, why wouldn’t they? Like so many other iconic cities around the globe, Los Angeles is a beautiful place that pairs together so many different cultures. There’s really no reason not to love it (sans the whole traffic and smog issues).

More from LeBron James

Of course, the fact that James ‘loves’ Southern California quickly had the rumor mill churning with suggestions that he could join either the Lakers or Clippers franchise, but that seemed way too far fetched even in the most base of forms. Or is it?

Obviously, unless James wants to deal with some struggles for a few seasons he won’t be joining the Los Angeles Lakers but their fellow Staples Center tenants, the Los Angeles Clippers might be a different story according to A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com who believes James joining the Clippers makes sense.

“When you throw in Father Time finally catching up with the rest of James’ Miami cohorts, it’s pretty clear that the best chance at him winning another title will have to come in a new zip code. That zip code will likely be in Los Angeles. And it won’t be running as Kobe Bryant‘s sidekick with the Los Angeles Lakers, but instead with the on-the-rise Los Angeles Clippers.”

The Clippers don’t have the financial means to sign James outright (assuming he opts-out of his deal with the Miami Heat) so they’d need to work on a sign-and-trade scenario, one that Blakely hints should include Blake Griffin heading to South Beach.

Of course, in the end it simply seems like a NBA 2K trade gone wrong as big name players like James and Griffin being traded for each other is an almost unheard of scenario.
