Just a few weeks ago, LeBron James stated that as long as his family is happy, he’s happy. It was a bit of an odd sentiment simply because it was reported that James’ wife, Savannah, would like to move to either Akron or San Diego, neither of which have their own NBA team.

However, there are two basketball teams that are about a thirty minute helicopter ride from San Diego and it appears LeBron James may have interest in joining one of them, this according to Yahoo Sports who says James and his camp are intrigued with the idea of playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.

"The most intriguing move on the mind of James and his camp, sources told Yahoo Sports, would be a sign-and-trade scenario with the Los Angeles Clippers in which James could play with close friend Chris Paul and under president-coach Doc Rivers. Nevertheless, Miami has remained the primary consideration for James, sources said. He wants to see Riley’s plans for improving the roster."

The idea of LeBron James playing for the Clippers isn’t exactly new as David Aldridge of NBA.com suggested the Clippers as a potential dark horse for James on Monday, though such a move would need to come in the form of a sign-and-trade as mentioned above as the Clippers lack available salary cap room.

The Miami Heat have zero reason to assist LeBron James in such a move unless they were completely confident he was going to leave, but again, the Clippers don’t have the available cash to sign him outright which puts a hefty damper on the idea.
