In fact, Flowers found work in the AFC West as the San Diego Chargers snatched him up and have handed him a one year deal.
According to Fox Sports NFL insider mike Garafolo, the San Diego Chargers will be signing Flwoers after he cme in fr a visit and the team apaprently liked what they saw out of him.
Flowers wasn’t a terrible cornerback in his days with the Chiefs but he quickly became expendable as Kansas City moved towards younger defensive stars and a looser salary cap structure. There will need to be money spent in Kansas City int he coming year and it’s very telling that they signed no one of note this year yet cut one of their biggest defenisve contracts.
Now that he’s in San Diego, Flowers will have to prove that he’s not washed up and that the veteran still has some good years left. It’s just a one year deal, but the Chargers were in desperate need of help in their secondary and they have seemingly picked the pocket of a division rival even if the pocket was wide open for the taking.
