NBA rumors: Lakers want to trade Steve Nash to pair Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James
By Josh Sanchez
If the Los Angeles Lakers get their way, it appears that they will trade away veteran point guard Steve Nash and the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Why would they do such a thing? To clear room for LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

Yes, that is what we have already come to this early in the season.
With Anthony and James opting out of their contracts, a number of teams are hoping to find a way to clear enough room to pair the two stars and the Lakers are one of those hopeful teams.
Interestingly enough, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks are also teams interested in pairing the dynamic duo together.
For Los Angeles, their plan is to clear up $33 million in cap space to attract the two stars to form a new Big 3 with future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant. If that were to happen, the Lakers would instantly be one of the favorites to bring home the NBA title just one year after landing in the NBA lottery.
It is going to be an interesting few weeks as we wait to see exactly what will go down with LeBron and Carmelo, but you can guarantee there will be no shortage of rumors as everything continues to play out.
For the sanity of Cleveland fans, let’s hope they are the team that finds a way to pair Anthony and James together.
