The Phoenix Suns are looking to make a splash this upcoming season as they will be coming off a year in which they took the entire league buy surprise with how well they played and how close they came to making the postseason. For a team that was projected as a high lottery pick before the season, the Suns shocked everyone by being in the playoff hunt with two days left in the regular season and that’s something they are building on this summer.

More from LeBron James

Thanks to their incredible season, the Suns are all of a sudden a pretty decent free agent destination and the team plans on using their status as an intriguing young team to lure in not just any free agent but the free agent sitting out on the market — but they’re going to do so within reason.

According to the Arizona Republic, the Suns will make an aggressive run at LeBron James, something we learned over the weekend, but they will not sit around and linger if he doesn’t show an interest in wanting to come out west.

"The Suns will not linger with the idea long if the interest is not reciprocated by James and his agent, Rich Paul, who is also Bledsoe’s agent and is expected to handle free-agency meetings instead of James. The Suns have the cap space to pursue other significant veterans. They have considered small forward Luol Deng and power forward Pau Gasol, who are unrestricted free agents, but the Suns might opt to continue their organic growth if they are unable to make the big splash."

James joining the Suns isn’t as crazy as it once sounded as the team has pulled themselves together in improbable fashion and have turned into a winning franchise. They’ve done so in the Western Conference too which is both even more special for them but a main reason why LeBron James may decline an offer from them to stay out East.
