Bret Bielema takes shot at Oklahoma bringing in Dorial Green-Beckham

The big story in college football on Thursday was that former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is transferring to the Oklahoma Sooners after the Tigers dismissed the talented, yet troubled receiver in the spring after his latest brush with the law.

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema was a guest on “Sports Talk with Bo” and took a not-so-subtle shot at Oklahoma for bringing a player like Green-Beckham.

He has a checkered past with drug issues and legal troubles and said there’s no room for a player like that on the Razorbacks.

As talented as Green-Beckham is after a 12-touchdown season with Missouri that likely was going to result in him being named a first-team All-SEC preseason pick and potential All-American, he also falls into both of those categories after multiple arrests, including a suspension, for marijuana and his run-ins with the law.

All that baggage is too much for Bielema who also said he has a strict no tolerance policy for marijuana and drug use and is pretty adherent to that policy.

This isn’t the first time Bielema has been outspoken as he made some waves in his first year in Fayetteville about the use of hurry-up, no-huddle offenses and the dangers of operating as such a pace.

He didn’t need to mention the name of the school, but that was a comment directed at Auburn and much like that comment, he didn’t need to mention Oklahoma or Bob Stoops, but that is how it will be perceived and interpreted.

I applaud Bielema for running the program his way and not taking chances on players with legal and drug issues, so do you have any issue with his comments?
