Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe had a down year in 2013, but he is ready to bounce back in a big way this season.

Bowe claims that he has been working hard to get into top shape during the offseason and he believes that will help him get back to performing at a level that he, Chiefs fans and fantasy owners are used to.

The wideout credits a healthy diet for his ability to drop ten pounds and improve conditioning during the offseason.

“I made the initiative to be in better shape,” Bowe told USA Today. “I’m getting older, and talking to the old vets, the only way you last longer is to be in better conditioning. I took that to the heart and am training extremely hard this year.

“I’m moving around, doing lot of motion, so I want to be as fit and in as good a shape as possible. I feel lighter, and it’s definitely because of what I’m eating and how I’m treating my body. That’s the main reason why I’m feeling so explosive.”

The Chiefs had a great team performance in 2013, as they bounced back from a two-win season to becoming one of the top teams in the AFC.

If Bowe is back at 100 percent, then the Chiefs offense will improve in a way that should allow them to remain legitimate contenders.
