Missouri QB Maty Mauk compares himself to Johnny Manziel
By Dan Zinski
Will 2014 see the arrival of a new Johnny Manziel, and if so, who will that man be? Missouri QB Maty Mauk thinks the answer is yes, and he is the guy to be the next Johnny Football.

Speaking at SEC Media Day, Mauk grabbed the scepter from Johnny Manziel and clutched it tight to his willing bosom (via NFL.com):
"I feel like I have the ability to do similar things, and that’s what people are expecting of me back in Columbia (Mo.)."
Mauk said he’s been studying Manziel.
"The stuff he could do was unbelievable. People had never (seen) it. You’re a freshman Heisman Trophy winner. He could turn anything into a big play. That’s what I liked about him, and that’s why I watch him on film."
Brash. But probably ill-advised considering everything Johnny Manziel was able to accomplish in his college career.
Manziel the last two years was one of the most exciting players in all CFB, if not the most exciting player. Mauk has had his moments for Mizzou but he is a long way from deserving comparison with a certified college legend like Johnny Football.
In other words, don’t copyright that Maty Football nickname just yet. Don’t look for Missouri to start calling their stadium “The House That Maty Built.” Don’t look for Drake to start hanging around Missouri games.
Not yet, anyway.
