The Denver Nuggets held onto the 11th overall pick in the draft this year but ended up trading it for two players that the Chicago Bulls drafted for them in the big Doug McDermott trade. One of those two players had his future in doubt with the team as Jusuf Nurkic was looking like he was going to return overseas to play this season.

But not only did he agree to come to the NBA this year, he has now signed his contract to officially join the Denver Nuggets for his rookie season.

Nurkic is one of the best international prospects in the draft and he’s one of the more exciting players to watch this upcoming season. What the Nuggets needed out of Nurkic and what they’re going to get may not be the same thing in his rookie season but the bottom line is that they team is going to get a sharp big man to play with and mold in their team’s image and no matter the doubt that was clouding his future during the draft, Nurkic is a Nugget and that’s all that counts.
