The Buffalo Bills have a long way to go under second year quarterback EJ Manuel. The team has finished 6-10 in each of the last two seasons and hasn’t had a winning record since 2004. They’ll need to pull out every trick in the book if they’re going to make the AFC playoffs this season.

More from Buffalo Bills

If videos from early practices are any indication, the team could be ready to do just that.

In a video posted to the team’s website, hulking guard Kraig Urbik sneaked through the secondary on a red zone play and found himself wide open for a touchdown catch. If you’ve never seen a lineman celebrate a touchdown — even one that’s ultimately meaningless — feast your eyes.

There’s nothing like seeing a 300-pound fully geared lineman trying to clutch a football. There’s something awkward and amusing about the way those big hands just wrap up the pigskin and envelope it. Has any big man ever held it any differently? It’s like the ball is a baby they refuse to drop or even bring close to their body.

Urbik’s pass actually came from backup QB Jeff Tuel, but EJ Manuel was surely paying attention as well. It wouldn’t be the first time a big man lined up as an eligible receiver along the goal line and nabbed a touchdown pass. If the Bills manage this during the regular season, look back to this video as a preamble to what became.

And you said it’s just practice.
