Sammy Watkins limited in return to Bills practice
The sound you hear is a deep breath being exhaled in the city of Buffalo as Bills wide receiver and the team’s first round pick, Sammy Watkins, has returned to practice after missing Monday’s session.

Panic ensued when Watkins missed Monday’s practice with a rib injury and no timetable was given for his return to the practice field. However, less than 24 hours later the former Clemson All-American was back on the field, albeit in a limited manner.
It remains to be seen if Watkins will play in the regular season dress rehearsal in the next preseason game, but based on his limited availability in Tuesday’s practice it would appear that would be doubtful at this point.
If he is able to take part in a full practice on Wednesday his status could be upgraded, but it would not be a surprise to see him held out for precautionary reasons considering how valuable he is to the offense and the team’s overall success in 2014.
The Bills paid a steep price to move up from No. 9 to No. 4 to draft him in May and they will do everything they can to ensure he is ready for the regular season opener next month.
