The world of college football recruiting is a world that may make even high-stakes poker players blush at times, and that’s especially the case when you’re dealing with one of the most highly sought after prospects.

So, when LSU got a verbal commitment from 5-star defensive back Kevin Toliver the school likely knew the battle for his signature was far from over.

On Wednesday, 247Sports.com’s Barton Simmons confirmed that Toliver will take a number of official visits this fall. LSU is on the list, but so are some of the other blue blood programs across the country.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian product will make official visits to Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and USC according to Simmons’ reporting.

Toliver currently sits as the No. 7-ranked player in the country according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He is also the No. 2-ranked cornerback in the country and the No. 4-ranked player in the state of Florida.

One of the more interesting notes from this release is that Toliver has been committed to LSU since November of 2012, but will see the Virginia Tech Hokies twice in person. His visit to Ohio State is scheduled for the weekend of the Virginia Tech game, while he will visit Blacksburg for next visit as the Hokies take on Georgia Tech.

Considering the length of his commitment to LSU, it has to be a bit troubling to the program that Toliver is exploring all of his options this late in the game. One has to worry about him getting cold feet, and it would be a major blow to the program losing this highly ranked of a player.
