Gordon had filed an appeal, but the NFL took their time getting back to Gordon and the team with an answer.
After the announcement came down, Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer released a statement supporting Gordon and stating that the franchise has “strong feelings on the timing and the process of this decision.”

The Browns have every right to be upset with the NFL for the untimeliness of the announcement on Gordon’s suspension, because he will now be unable to re-join the team until the final week of the preseason next year.
Gordon will miss offseason workouts because of the suspension, which would have been avoided had the NFL acted promptly to uphold their initial decision.
