Were you scrolling through TMZ this morning and noticed something odd?
More from Baltimore Ravens

- NFL Rumors: Ravens additions might not be done after signing Melvin Gordon

No, not the disgusting video of Ray Rice punching his fiance (now wife) in a hotel elevator but the fact that Maurice Jones-Drew was pictured as the culprit?
Possibly trying to rush and get the image online (or perhaps it was incorrectly indexed), the entertainment website posted a photo of the Oakland Raiders running back thinking it was Ray Rice.
Of course, once TMZ figured out they posted an image of Maurice Jones-Drew and not Ray Rice, they quickly fixed the error though plenty of people saw the gaff and were quick to point out they had posted a picture of the incorrect running back.

There was no malice intended on the part of TMZ, though, you have to be careful with such as the last thing MJD wants is to be associated with such barbaric behavior on the part of Ray Rice.
As for the running back, he is no longer a member of the Baltimore Ravens organization as he was released on Monday morning, just hours after TMZ leaked the full incident of he and his then fiance in the elevator.
In addition, the NFL (who previously gave Rice a slap on the wrist) has handed down an indefinite suspension for the former Rutgers star.
It’s a shame that the league didn’t originally punish Rice like this (as they should have) as the running back would have been on the field come Week 3 if not for TMZ releasing the full video. Absurdly shocking thought given what was seen on the video.
