Another day, another instance of Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard blaming somebody else for his problems.

More from Houston Rockets

As you’ve likely heard, the All-Star big man recently had his license suspended in Florida after it was alleged that the former Orlando Magic star ran a red light. Alas, it wasn’t the fault of Dwight who says it was his brother who broke the law. In fact, Dwight says it was physically impossible for him to be the culprit. Why? Because he was getting ready to play the San Antonio Spurs.

That’s the word from TMZ who spoke to Dwight Howard about the incident.

"Dwight Howard says he was NOT behind the wheel when his car blew through a red light in Florida back in April … telling TMZ Sports the culprit was his BROTHER. We broke the story … Howard’s license was suspended in FL after officials say he ran a red and never paid the fine. Records also show Howard ran 9 MORE reds in 2012."

For what it’s worth, there was no comment on the other traffic violations and its possible those were indeed the fault of Dwight Howard, but the big man insists he wasn’t at fault this time.

Regardless of whomever did it, blowing through a red light is incredibly stupid and he (or his brother) are lucky they nor anybody else was hurt.

TMZ says Dwight Howard’s license has already been reinstated. The power of celebrity, apparently.
