It seems like the play of Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers wasn’t the only abysmal thing we saw on Sunday night as the quarterback nearly blinded the media with his postgame attire.

More from Carolina Panthers

After getting blasted at home by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 37 to 19 loss, the Pro Bowl signal caller stepped to the Bank of America Stadium podium and you could hear lenses from the cameras shattering upon his arrival.

Rocking what appeared to be a light lavender dress coat might have been horrible enough, but shockingly that might have been the most tame piece of Cam Newton’s wardrobe. It only got worse from there as the Carolina Panthers franchise player wore what looked to be a ‘man’ version of peddle pushers, the pant leg stopping at Newton’s shin.

As if your head wasn’t shaking enough already, Newton completed the ensemble with a pair of black loafers complete with a gold accent that could likely double as the slipper you wear to grab the morning newspaper.

Look, it’s clear that professional athletes are attempting to one-up each other in their attempts to be ‘fashionable’ but there has to be a point where you jump the shark, right? Despite the fact that Cam Newton’s wardrobe probably cost more than my entire closet combined, he looks like he just rummaged through a trash bin and found whatever articles of clothing were in there.
