Miami Heat rumors: Danny Granger to play power forward?
By Bryan Rose
Although the Miami Heat ‘replaced’ LeBron James’ production at the small forward spot with Luol Deng, they still lack a true asset in the middle. That’s something that was an issue even with LeBron on the roster and the Miami Heat have yet to fix it.

Given that, Pat Riley says he can envision points where Danny Granger will slide into the power forward slot as he feels the former Indiana Pacers star can play both forward positions according to Ira Winderman.
"If Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts are your starting power players, and with Pat Riley already talking about Granger getting time in the power rotation, that again appears to be the direction."
It’s not known if Riley is suggesting that Danny Granger will get run at the power forward position while Chris Bosh sits on the bench or if Chris Bosh will move to center with Granger teaming up on the court with him.
Of course, it’s not Pat Riley who is coaching the team, so it remains to be seen if head coach Erik Spoelstra wants to trot Granger out into the power forward position. The veteran has played the position before, though that’s when he was much younger and far less injury prone. Even then, the time he spent at the position was relatively minimal so it should be interesting to see how he fits with the Miami Heat this season.
