Chicago Bulls’ Pau Gasol recording a Christmas song

Apparently, not only is Chicago Bulls power forward Pau Gasol a very talented basketball player, he also has a set of pipes.

If you’ve never heard the former Los Angeles Lakers star belt out a tune before, you’re missing out. No, his music may not be for everybody, but there’s no denying the man can sing.

Given that, it’s not exactly shocking that Pau Gasol has decided to record a Christmas song.

Teaming up with recording artist Rosana Arbelo, the Spainard hit the recording booth recently and tweeted about his experience laying down a jolly ol’ track.

As noted by Pau Gasol, the Christmas song is for charity and will appear on some type of promotional tool for UNICEF.

What exactly that might be is currently unknown, though given it’s a song, might we have an upcoming compilation album?

Personally, I’m hoping Pau Gasol makes a few calls to guys like Shaq and Joe Smith and the three form up a R&B/Hip Hop super group. Shaq with his overtone flows, Joe Smith with his verbal jabs while Pau Gasol gets on his Jagged Edge and belts out a harmonic rendition of a 1990’s West Coast rap hit.

Tell me you wouldn’t be lining up to get your hands on that.

There has been no announced released date for Pau Gasol’s Christmas song, though, I’d expect it to be available around Thanksgiving like most Xmas tunes.
