A few weeks ago the Los Angeles Lakers brought in a collection of players to work out. Among them was point guard Ronnie Price, who the team signed to a contract on Wednesday afternoon.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Price broke into the NBA with the Sacramento Kings where he became a fan favorite thanks to his hustle and elevation. That eventually landed Ronnie Price a contract with the Utah Jazz though the point guard struggled to be anything more than a bench player.

He eventually moved on to the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers before spending last season with the Orlando Magic. Price will now back up Jeremy Lin, Jordan Clarkson and Steve Nash with the Los Angeles Lakers.

At just 6’2, height has always been a problem for the former Utah Valley star though he’s been able to stick in the NBA thanks to his unique athletic ability.

Earlier today it was said that Steve Nash was entering training camp for the Los Angeles Lakers rather healthy, though that sentiment has been echoed before only to see Nash go down with injury. If that’s the case, it’s possible Ronnie Price could get some decent run with the Lakers though as the roster currently shakes out, he’s an end of the bench talent.

Price’s best season came in 2009-10 where he averaged 4 points and 2 assists in 13 minutes per game.
