Most popular NFL jersey sales by state
By Mike Dyce
The NFL season is underway, and fans are full of optimism, ready and willing to support their team. The folks at DICK’s Sporting Goods track the data of jersey sales at their stores nationwide and online to compile the Jersey Report.

In the report they break down the sales of the individual jerseys. They also notice some other interesting trends or figures.
This week they’ve compiled the data to see which team is the most popular in each state, based on jersey sales at DICK’s Sporting Goods.
It gets especially interesting for those states with multiple teams. For instance, the Buffalo Bills are arguably New York’s worst team and yet they sell the most jerseys, outselling the New York Giants and the New York Jets. The Giants get the rest of the tri-state area though, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Arkansas has a strange affinity for the Pittsburgh Steelers, odd considering the Dallas Cowboys are close and owned by an Arkansas alum.
Alaska, which is no where close to the lower-48, isn’t sticking with the Pacific Northwest based Seattle Seahawks, but instead supporting the St. Louis Rams, the only state the Rams lead in sales. Idaho is also spurning the neighboring Seahawks for the Green Bay Packers.
