The Cleveland Browns have been talking about approaching quarterback Brian Hoyer about an extension recently, but there might be an issue that hasn’t been talked about too much. According to a report from Browns’ beat writer Jeff Schudel, Hoyer won’t sign a long-term deal with the team unless Johnny Manziel is out of town. He obviously wants to be guaranteed playing time long-term, and views Manziel as a threat to his job.
This isn’t good news for the Browns at all, as they view Manziel as a solid option at quarterback long-term as well. He has some work to do on his maturity and arm, but he isn’t too terribly far away from being able to perform on the field. Hoyer has put together a very impressive season so far, and looks like an above average starting quarterback as well.
According to a report, Hoyer won't sign a long term deal if MAnziel is here. He won't comment on it.

Cleveland is now put into a very difficult situation assuming this report is true. Do they go ahead and move Manziel to keep Hoyer happy long-term? Do they commit to Manziel long-term rather than keeping Hoyer around town? Could they sign Hoyer to a shorter deal?
Quite simply, the Browns may end up having to pick their poison. If Hoyer continues playing at the level that he has been for the remainder of the season, it would likely be wise to give him a long-term deal and move Manziel if that is indeed what it takes. That being said, they should also try to talk to Hoyer about keeping Manziel around due to the health issues that Hoyer has had in the past.
It seems a bit weak of Hoyer to not sign long-term if another quarterback is around that could beat him out. He obviously has concerns about his job security, which is never a good sign. There is also the chance that this report isn’t true, and the Browns will be able to keep both quarterbacks around next season without any problems.
Expect more information to come out about this report in the near future.
