Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins thought he had a touchdown and began to celebrate. Then, he realized NFL defenders are faster than the ones in college.

Hey, Sammy Watkins, you are not at Clemson anymore.

The 2014 first-round pick, who the Buffalo Bills traded up to select, had a bit of a brain fart on Sunday during Week 8 of the NFL regular season.

After breaking free of the New York Jets‘ secondary, Watkins thought he had a touchdown.

In an attempt to showboat, Sammy Watkins raised his hand in victory to begin celebrating the touchdown he believed he would walk in to score. Unfortunately, Watkins quickly learned that NFL defenders are faster than the ones in college — especially those who are wide receivers naturally.

Watkins was caught from behind by Jets wideout turned emergency corner Saalim Hakim, who is also a rookie but remembered to hustle, after he began his premature celebration.

This is how it looked.

You have to know that Sammy Watkins is regretting the film session that will be coming, where the Buffalo Bills will likely make an example of their overly excited rookie wide receiver.

Let this be a warning to all: Don’t celebrate until you are in the endzone.
