Iconic NBA point guard Gary Payton says there is a long list of players in the NBA who do not like Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard.

It appears as if Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard can’t catch a break.

Once a loveable and energetic center on the Orlando Magic, Dwight made his way to Southern California after a trade demand where his one-year stint with the Los Angeles Lakers blew up in his face. After that, Dwight Howard appeared to become a marked man as he’s been routinely blasted by many with ties to the NBA.

That list now includes Hall of Fame point guard Gary Payton who took a shot at the big man suggesting many in the NBA don’t like him.

“I think he’s disliked by a lot of players,” Payton said. “What Dwight does is, you know you see all the smiles and all the antics, that is getting on player’s nerves. To get this guy, Kevin Durant, to do what he did, you know it’s starting to become a problem with players, because Kevin Durant doesn’t really talk to anybody … [Durant] goes at people that are fake with stuff. Only fake guys. Fake guys to me are when they’re always woofing, woofing, woofing, and they don’t really do nothing.”

Payton is of course referencing suggestions that Kevin Durant has previously called Dwight Howard a name that rhymes with “wussy” and he’s not the only player to have done so.

Few players who’ve ever played the game have talked more junk on the court than Gary Payton, so when it comes to trash talking or even calling out a player, he knows his stuff.

Needless to say, there’s no denying that Dwight Howard has created a reputation for himself in the league and it doesn’t appear to be of the positive variety.
