Scalpers in Detroit are selling tickets to the New York JetsBuffalo Bills game for $125 dollars.

If you had a few free minutes this weekend there was a chance you could have secured yourself a few free tickets to the New York Jets-Buffalo Bills game being played at Ford Field in Detroit on Monday.

The NFL of course relocated the game due to the monster snowstorm in Upstate New York and in turn offered free tickets to the game.

Handling such responsibilities were the Detroit Lions and their box office, though many hoping to get a ticket or two were sadly turned away. Why? Because those made available were already given out, some of which made their way into the hands of local scalpers who are taking the opportunity to make a buck.

According to ESPN, one scalper was peddling his ticket to the game for $125 bucks.

"Scalpers quickly moved to sell the tickets on the streets outside the stadium, in one case asking $125 for a single ticket.“This ain’t a free game, man,” one scalper said."

I’m all for making a dollar but this seems to be a bit over the top. Granted nobody has to buy the ticket from him (nor should they) but you’d like to see the free tickets put to good use.

Tickets to NFL games are not cheap so you’d hope that a parent would be able to take their child to a game they normally wouldn’t be able to afford, but with scalpers grabbing many of the tickets and attempting to pawn them off such doesn’t seem likely.

Hopefully the scalper doesn’t get the kind of cash he wants and he gives up the ghost and hands over the ticket(s) for a fraction of the cost to somebody in need or simply gives them away.

That may be wishful thinking though.
