Stephen Curry says Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob is being a distraction for his recent comments about former head coach Mark Jackson.

Even when the Golden State Warriors were making the playoff last season, the relationship between then head coach Mark Jackson and owner Joe Lacob was significantly strained.

Things didn’t get any better over the course of the next few weeks and Jackson was fired. Case closed, right? Not exactly as last week, the Golden State Warriors owner decided to unleash on his former coach for no apparent reason.

That didn’t sit well with franchise player Stephen Curry, a good friend of Mark Jackson, who stated his owner’s comments were a distraction to the team.

Consideirng Mark Jackson has been long fired and the Golden State Warriors are among the NBA’s elite under new head coach Steve Kerr, why exactly Lacob made any type of comment is unknown. Perhaps he was simply trying to flex his muscle by suggesting that he was correct and that Jackson was holding the team back while Kerr is the perfect fit.

Whatever the case might be, it’s certainly one he probably should have kept to himself. The last thing you want to do is piss off your franchise player and while it’s something that will likely eventually be swept under the rug, you have to wonder if Stephen Curry will catalog the event.

Pretty crazy for a player to come out and suggest his boss is being a distraction.
